In 2020, the Covid-19 crisis disrupted our whole existence, testing the resilience of our organisation and our social links. Faced with this emergency situation, men and women stepped forward, putting themselves on the front line, doing key work in our society. Through this book, the Teréga Accélérateur d'Énergies endowment fund has chosen to shine a spotlight on some of those people who made that positive commitment in our regions in the South West.
This first action by the Teréga Accélérateur d'Énergies endowment fund supports Teréga’s desire to highlight the positive initiatives carried forward by actors in the far South West of France.
“Essential Lines” are the key lines that support our society, and which were put rudely to the test by the Covid-19 pandemic. Carers, refuse collectors, farmers, builders, checkout staff, or ordinary active, committed members of the public, all stepped forward to hold those lines. This book is a way of highlighting the commitment of men and women in our regions in the South West, and the inspiring community initiatives that emerged during that health crisis.
Through the twelve eyewitness accounts, this book pays tribute to the local people who decided to take action for the common good. They provide proof that, when faced with real needs, energy and initiative can be brilliantly harnessed for the good of society.
Essential Lines is a collective community book, published by Débats Publics. You can buy it or order it from your local bookshop.
