What does locational spread involve?

Congestion occurs when the heart of a network is saturated and the gas injected into the network can no longer be transported correctly. It is then said that a congestion limit has been reached between a downstream zone, which is not receiving enough gas, and an upstream zone, which is receiving too much.

Locational spread means the simultaneous purchase and sale, by Transport Grid Managers (GRTs), of two locational products, either side of that limit. The objective is to transfer gas inputs to downstream of the congestion, whereas they were initially made upstream.
