Damazan (47): Teréga connects its network to the future NGV station of Bio-GNV du Confluent SAS

Teréga, France’s leading independent gas infrastructure operator, has sealed its commitment to Bio-GNV du Confluent SAS and announced the connection of a Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle (CNGV) station in Damazan in the Lot-et-Garonne department (47).

Strategically located between Bordeaux and Toulouse, the station is scheduled to open in mid-April 2021.

A GNV station at the heart of a regional project

This project is part of the TEPOS program (Positive Energy Territories) led by the community of communes of the Confluence and Coteaux de Prayssas whose ambition is to develop renewable and local energy sources as alternatives to historical fuels. This project brings together the Territoires d’Energies 47* energy syndicate, which initiated the creation of Bio-GNV du Confluent SAS, as well as local transporters such as Biocoop, a forerunner in food transport with GNV vehicles.

Located in the heart of the Confluence Business Park, the Damazan station will distribute bioNGV, the renewable equivalent of NGV from biomethane production, in three areas. Designed to accommodate up to 40 HGVs per day, it will rely primarily on the fleet of the neighbouring company Biocoop and the vehicles arriving from the nearby A62 exit no.6.

With the possibility of reducing CO2 emissions by about 70% and fine particles by 80%
compared to a diesel vehicle of the same generation, bioNGV offers one of the best compromises in terms of environment and complete cost of use over the life cycle of the vehicles.
