Teréga Accélérateur d’Énergies, the Teréga endowment fund, is proud to announce the private viewing of works by visual artist Chloé Quenum, at the end of her artistic residency at the company. As part of a sponsorship programme run by the Centre Pompidou Accélérations endowment fund, Chloé Quenum was invited to take up a residency to create works that resonate with the theme of the 2022/23 cultural season: presence.
Chloé Quenum is a visionary artist whose creations draw their essence from anthropological and historical research into various regions of the world, notably West Africa and Oceania. Her work explores graphic forms and signs, transposing them onto innovative media using traditional techniques and processes.
Drawing inspiration from the branching system, shapes and colour code of the undergroun and overhead gas pipeline networks on the Teréga site, Chloé Quenum has created around thirty pieces of coloured blown glass that comply with the standards of the gas pipeline on a miniaturised scale.
Attended by the artist, François Bayrou, President of the Communauté d’Agglomération Pau Béarn Pyrénées and Mayor of Pau, and Dominique Mockly, Chairman of the Teréga Accélérateur d’Énergies endowment fund, this private viewing, entitled ‘Les nuages rendent la lune invisible’ (Clouds make the moon invisible), will take place on Monday 3 July 2023 at 6.30pm at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Pau. Thereafter, Chloé Quenum’s works will be on public display at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Pau from 4 July to 11 October 2023. From autumn 2023, they will move to the Centre Pompidou, where they will also be exhibited.
